Last year, your generous support exceeded our fundraising goal! This year, we aim to raise $25,000. These funds will help former foster youth build brighter futures. But why such an ambitious goal?
Meet Ajani
Earlier this year, Ajani, a new Ready to Succeed Scholar, attended Camp Ready. It’s a two-day event for former foster youth in our program to connect and plan for the future. Ajani didn’t always consider college.
Ajani didn’t have family members who attended college. He didn’t know the first thing about getting accepted. But Ajani believe in himself! He was accepted into UC Santa Barbara, but he felt isolated without a supportive community. Being part of Ready to Succeed changed Ajani’s life. He built strong connections with other college-bound foster youth.
What’s more, your support transformed his outlook. “Now, I have access to opportunities I couldn’t find elsewhere,” he says. Because of you, Ajani has hope for the future. Ajani’s story certainly illustrates the impact of your support. In fact, it’s why we set this year’s GivingTuesday goal.
