In January 2016, two non-profit veterans, Romi Lassally and Patrick McCabe, saw the opportunity to transform outcomes with targeted support—to take the foster youth that were motivated, ambitious, and tenacious enough to make it to college and ensure they had the resources, relationships, and opportunities they needed to succeed there and in all facets of life. Romi and Pat believed that if every student had the right support, then they would be successful.
Together, they created an intensive career and personal development program that would focus on career coaching, network building, internships, and financial support. The dismal statistics started to turn around. Today, Ready to Succeed is breaking the vicious cycle of poverty by opening doors, fostering connections, and building community.
