Before Thanksgiving last month, Scholars, alumni, supporters and RTS staff gathered to share a meal and good times at Zinc Bar and Market in LA. The food was good, but the conversation was even better. For our Scholars, it was a great time to share what was going on in their lives.
Your support makes these community building events possible, and gives Scholars the opportunity to connect, share ideas, and create lifelong friendships.
Scholars were able to share their current journeys. One Scholar, Anthony talked about his internship search in Human Resources and got tips from others also on the job hunt. Because of events like Friendsgiving, Scholars are able to connect with others who get it and can cheer them on in their career journeys.
Many RTS Scholars don’t have a family to celebrate with. Coming together with other former foster youth, first-generation college students and alumni helps bring some joy to what can often be a difficult time, and helps Scholars build a support system.
Thank you for creating safe and welcoming spaces for all.
