New RTS Scholars will receive $5,000 a year

The last weekend of July, Ready to Succeed Scholars joined staff, volunteers, and alums for this year’s Camp Ready.  Camp Ready is a first of it’s kind program for incoming RTS Scholars. The two-day residential camp helps Scholars build skills and relationships.

Congressman Ted Lieu, representing the 36 district of California, joined Camp Ready for a special announcement. Congressman Lieu presented the Scholars with a check for $1,000,000 in approved federal funding! The money will provide a $5,000 a year scholarship for every RTS Scholar. This year’s incoming class will be the first recipients.
