What is a Micro-Internship?
Micro-Internships are short-term, VIRTUAL professional projects. These projects enable RTS students to demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and build their networks as they seek the right full-time role.

Why are they essential to our Scholars during this time?
The global pandemic has disrupted the lives of all our scholars, many of whom have lost their spring/summer internships and entry-level prospects which are so vital to their future success. These Micro-Internships ensure that our RTS students are prepared and competitive for jobs, both between college years and upon graduation.

Scholars are also compensated for these projections either directly by companies or from our Basic Needs Fund which covers stipends for unpaid projects.

RTS helped Marina secure a remote internship with The Virtue Project, a social impact PR firm based in Los Angeles founded by Shannon De Laat. Shannon is mentoring Marina and giving her exposure and projects that provide critical experience to be competitive for a full time job this summer. Thanks to the new RTS, program Marina can work and make a living wage while doing so in an industry that traditionally does not host paid interns.
